I am a student right now, I study philosophy and classical culture. I am sort of planning on becoming some sort of lawyer, although I'm toying with doing philosophy in grad school. I usually dislike what I write, but I am going to attempt to compose something that won't make me grimace a week from now.

I appreciate understatement. My tolerance to pretentiousness is nearly as low as my tolerance to empty-headedness. In spite of my typical quietness, I am a strong personality. Some find me hard to get along with and, if my name ever came up, would no doubt describe me with their favorite expletive; others thrive off my capacity to intuit and understand them. Despite being generally aloof, I have a mischievous nature that can sometimes get the better of me, and I hope you won't take it the wrong way when it inevitably surfaces.

Although I enjoy my own personal space--and my alone time--I know by experience that I am capable of great care and affection as well. As of yet, I just don't know what it is in a person that triggers that response in me.

I am one who can testify that life is not always kind. But I can also tell you that it has its finer moments as well. Sometimes it is necessary to cling to the memory of those when all else has gone astray. Certain hardships have left me damaged. However, I am not crippled. Nor do I plan on being so any time soon. Many mistake my outlook on things as being overly cynical. I am not a cynic. A better description would be an idealist who has often been disappointed by reality.

In a girl, I look for someone who sparks my interest and whom I enjoy just chatting up. A person whose company is a pleasure instead of a nuisance. They are not static and cannot be adequately summed up or confined by a single descriptive label.

Don't worry: I am not turning the human relational paradigm on its head. Basically, all that really means is I get annoyed when someone asks me, "Are we gf/bf yet?" We are not boyfriend and girlfriend just because we say we are; we are boyfriend and girlfriend because of our actions, our behavior with one another. Too often people get caught up in labels and lose focus of what actually makes them meaningful.

Lastly, I often get asked whether I believe in love. I believe in a concept called love. The majority of love songs are clueless about it. I hope my dear reader isn't.

Well... A little about me I guess.....I have never really been big on the party scene. I feel more comfortable in the smaller group settings with a night of dinner and a movie, out or in. I'm a student at James Madison University right now and I'm working towards my BS in Biology. During the school year "home" is Harrisonburg, VA but I return to Burtonsville, MD for holiday and such. I love the outdoors.Like going out to my cabin and shoot guns watch wildlife and sit by the campfire and relax.Sometimes I just like to sit in and watch a good movie or play video games or maybe just listen to music to unwind.
